The Power
of Performance

Discovering how music strengthens our minds, builds character, and unites us all.

The Power of Performance is an exploration of how making music transforms who we are. For teens and families, music is more than just a hobby—it is a vital tool for mental health that builds lasting self-confidence and a deep sense of belonging. Through my own journey as a performer, I discovered that every note helps us express emotions and build the resilience we need in life.
In this project, you will find research-backed insights and personal stories showing why music matters. We dive into how creative expression fosters community and helps people find their unique voices. Explore this space to see how the stage and the studio act as training grounds for personal growth and emotional well-being.

What I’m Exploring

WELL-BEING

Exploring how melodic expression acts as a vital tool for emotional processing and mental clarity.

CONFIDENCE & GROWTH

Investigating how the discipline of the stage builds the resilience and self-assurance needed for life.

CONNECTION

Understanding how shared musical experiences foster deep community roots and a true sense of home.

This project is built on five core pillars: Music & Mental Health, Personal Development, Community, Music Education, and Careers & Advocacy. I wanted to understand how these areas overlap to shape who we are. By researching these themes, I’ve started asking how performance helps us process stress and how the discipline of practice translates into life skills like grit and focus. These questions matter because they help us see music not just as a skill, but as a roadmap for navigating the challenges of growing up.
I’m also diving into the ways music education creates a sense of belonging and how advocacy ensures every teen has the chance to be heard. We are looking at how being part of a creative community builds empathy and why choosing a path in the arts is a powerful way to influence the world. Through these pillars, I hope to show parents and students alike that every rhythm and melody is an opportunity for profound connection and lifelong learning.
